Common Site Safety Codes


Site Safety Manager is required for the Construction or Demolition of a major building, or the alteration of the facade of a major building when a sidewalk shed is required [Building Code 3310.5]

Major Building is a building to be constructed to a height of 10 or more stories, or 125 fee or more or have 100,000 sf regardless of height [Building Code 3310.2]

Concrete Safety Manager is required at projects where the concrete portion of the project involves the pouring of a minimum of 2,000 cubic yards of concretes or more [Building Code 3310.9.1]

Construction Site Fire Safety Manager (CSFSM) is required where a Site Safety Manager or Site Safety Coordinator is required by the Building Code for a construction site [FDNY]

Superintendent is required for construction or demolition of a building [Building Code 3301.3]

Facade Restoration: LL11 of 98 requires buildings over 6 floors to have inspections and repair in 5 year cycles. NYC BC 3310.1 requires Site Safety Plan and a Site Safety Manager for facade repair work on major buildings and where a shed is required to be installed; i.e. projects where works is > 40' or above sidewalk level [Building Code 3307.6.2].
